Shirley Virginia Montgomery

Mrs. Shirley Virginia Montgomery, 74, of Ellaville, passed away at her residence on May 14, 2024.  Graveside services will be held on Friday, May 17, 2024, at 10:00AM in Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery with Bro. Stephen Fripp and Bro. CJ Yarbrough officiating. The family will greet friends at Way-Watson Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00PM.

Mrs. Montgomery was born July 1, 1949, to Elmer and Frances Jones Stuckey in Preston, Georgia.  She was a graduate of Ellaville High School and a longtime member of Ebenezer Baptist Church.  Mrs. Shirley was well known for her love of Ellaville and Schley County and showed that through her service at the Main Street Grill.  She was there every morning at 4:00 AM, making sure the biscuits were made.  Mrs. Shirley served anywhere she was able and will be missed dearly.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lamar Montgomery and two brothers, Ronnie Stuckey and Phillip Stuckey.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Duane and Karen Montgomery of Ellaville; two grandsons, Wayde Montgomery and Will Montgomery; four sisters, Willene Smith, Gloria Crumpton, Brenda Ingram, all of Americus, GA and Wynelle Holbrook of Preston, GA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
