SSG (Ret.) Victor Allen Young, 75, of Columbus, GA, passed away on January 31, 2026, at St. Francis Hospital. A private memorial service will be held for the family.

SSG Young was born November 8, 1950, in St. Louis Park, MN. He was retired from the U.S. Army after 20 years and then continued to work in Radiology for Dr.’s Hospital and Columbus Regional Hospital until his retirement. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching sports. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Brian Dean Young.

Survivors include his wife, Myra Jean Young; two stepchildren, Michael Brooks, Jr. (Micki) and Kevin Brooks; six grandchildren, Dylan Young (Rachel), Gage Young (Hannah), Tye Young (Zack Walters), Langston Brooks, Maya Brooks, Maddie Brooks, Michael Brooks, III, and Amora Brooks; four great-grandchildren, Peyton, Parker, Rosalie and Sylvie; two sisters, Barbara Fuerst and Cheryl Zwart; and several nieces and nephews.
