Steven Griffis

Steven Griffis, age 23, of Buena Vista, Georgia, died on Monday, June 13, 2011, in Marion County, GA.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 15, 2011, at 2:00 PM at Bethany Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. A. R. Curlee and Rev. John Sanes officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening.

Mr. Griffis was born January 7, 1988, in Ft. Benning, GA, to Jimmy Dewayne and Anita Dawn Youngblood Griffis. He was employed in construction at Youngblood "Layout" Construction. A lifelong resident of Marion County, he was a member of Bethany Freewill Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Frances and James Griffis, Sr.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a son, Caleb Groski of Mauk, GA; by a daughter Haleigh Griffis of Buena Vista, GA; by a brother Gage Griffis of Buena Vista, GA; and by his maternal grandparents Ruble and Martha Youngblood. Several cousins, aunts, uncles and friends also survive.

Watson-Tante Funeral Home in Buena Vista, GA, was in charge of arrangements.
