Steven Donald Vanlerberghe

ELLAVILLE, GA --- Mr. Steven Donald Vanlerberghe Sr., 62, of Americus, GA, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center.  A funeral service will be held in the chapel of Watson-Giddens Funeral Home on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Mark Kinservik and Mr. Ellis Larkin officiating. Burial will follow in the Ellaville Cemetery.  Visitation will be held at Watson-Giddens Funeral Home on Friday, March 11, 2016 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.

    Mr. Vanlerberghe was born on March 17, 1953 in Mount Clemens, MI to Andrew “Pops” Vanlerberghe of Americus, GA and the late Nancy Vanlerberghe. He worked with Proctor and Gamble for over 15 years and then worked with Wohrley Drywall.  Mr. Vanlerberghe loved spending time with friends and family, especially watching his grandson play ball and going on cruises with his cousins.  He also enjoyed riding motorcycles and was a NASCAR fan. Mr. Vanlerberghe was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.   

    In addition to his father, Mr. Vanlerberghe is survived by two sons, Steven “Stevie” D. Vanlerberghe II of Atlanta, GA and Brad Vanlerberghe of Ellaville; one sister, Shanon Royal of Ellaville; one grandson, Camron Vanlerberghe and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Vanlerberghe was preceded in death by his mother, Nancy Vanlerberghe and a brother, Rob Vanlerberghe.

      Pallbearers will include Nick Vanlerberghe, Andrew Vanlerberghe, Al Vanlerberghe, Brian Tidd, Jared Wohrley, Ellis Larkin, Zack Royal and R. T. Lumpkin.
