Susan Hager

Susan Elizabeth “Bootie” Hager, 68, of Buena Vista, GA, passed away Friday, August 28, 2015, at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, GA. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, September 4, 2015, at Kyger Funeral Home. The family will greet friends at Kyger Funeral Home on Thursday, September 3, 2015, from 6-8PM.

Ms. Hager was born February 20, 1947, in Harrisonburg, VA, to Luther Wilson and Edith Elizabeth Shifflett McDonaldson. She was Christian by faith and enjoyed gospel music.  She never met a stranger. Ms. Hager loved spending time with her friends and her family, especially her grandchildren. She had worked as a poultry farmer and was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two infant sisters.

She is survived by six children, Edward and Diane Hager of Elkton, VA, Lorraine Hager of Pollock, LA, Lisa and Joe Rodeheaver of Buena Vista, GA, Donna and Freddie Cooper of Buena Vista, GA, Robert Hager and fiancé Tracy Brown of Buena Vista, GA, and David and Bridgette Hager of Harrisonburg, VA; three sisters, Shirley Ritchie of Grottoes, VA, Burnette and Grover Mowbray of Bridgewater, VA, and Sharon and Leonard Shifflett of Grottoes, VA; a special cousin, Wayne Forren; by 31 grandchildren, 58 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Watson-Tante Funeral Home is in charge of the local arrangements and Kyger Funeral Home of Harrisonburg, VA is in charge of additional arrangements.
