Susie Price

Mrs. Susie Price, 90, of Americus, GA, passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at Taylor County Health & Rehab in Butler, GA. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, September 11, 2023, at Shiloh Baptist Church with Rev. C. J. Yarbrough and Rev. Stephen Fripp officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends at the church one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:00AM.

Mrs. Price was born in Sumter County, GA, on September 18, 1932, to William McKinley and Beulah Avery Bivins. Baptist by faith, she was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. Mrs. Price loved her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.  She was a good cook and loved word search puzzles. After her retirement from Manhattan Shirt Factory, she worked in the lunchroom at Southland Academy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Logan Price, Sr., two children, John William “Billy” Price and Myra Katherine “Kathy” Warren, four brothers, Tommy Bivins, Reuben Bivins, Stanley Bivins, and Frank Bivins, and three sisters, Martha “Chuck” Harris, Bessie Yarbrough, and Evelyn Kidd.

She is survived by two sons, Joseph Logan Price, Jr., of Macon, GA, and Kenneth Thomas Price (Cheryl) of Perry, GA; a daughter-in-law, Paula Price of Americus, GA; Eight grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
