Wayne Timothy Barnes

ELLAVILLE, GA ---Mr. Wayne Timothy Barnes, age 49, of Americus, GA died Saturday, July 3, 2010 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, GA. Funeral services will be held graveside at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at the Ellaville Cemetery in Ellaville, GA. Rev. Roy and Jennie Peterson will officiate.
Mr. Barnes was born July 26, 1960 in Sumter Co., GA the son of Syble Hogan Barnes and Franklin Barnes. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Barnes and his father. Mr. Barnes was a truck driver and played guitar in the gospel group Stillwater. He was a member of Stillwater Chapel in Ideal, GA.
Mr. Barnes is survived in addition to his mother by his wife, Barbara Ann Hutchins Barnes; one son, Joshua Wayne Barnes of Americus, GA; two step sons, David Wellons and wife, Leslie and Chris Rushing and wife, Keshia, all of Americus, GA; one step daughter, Nancy Price and husband, Cedric of Columbus, GA; one brother, Bobby Barnes and wife, Jennifer of Lake Blackshear, GA; and one sister, Kathy Pilcher and husband, Jay of Preston, GA. Four grandchildren, Keeli Rushing, Taylor Beth Rushing, Michael Wilson, and Zackary Price also survive.
