William "Bill" Green Forrest

Mr. William “Bill” Green Forrest, 82, passed away on November 4, 2020 at his residence in Preston, GA.  Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, November 6, 2020 at Lebanon Cemetery, Plains, GA with Rev. Robert Orr officiating. Casual dress is requested.  Pallbearers will be Darryl Jones, Ray Rustin, Neil Hagerson, Boyd Hagerson, Donald Walker, Mark Thompson and David Reeves.  Due to Covid-19, face coverings are encouraged and please practice social distancing.  The only time family will greet friends will be following the funeral service.

Mr. Forrest was born May 23, 1938 to the late Estese Davenport Forrest and Eleanor Chambliss Forrest in Americus, GA.  He was a farmer and worked at Sumter Livestock.  He had also served in the National Guard.  Mr. Forrest was a member of Preston Baptist Church.  He enjoyed farming, hunting and fishing and loved his family, especially anything involving his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Mr. Forrest also loved spending time at Sumter Livestock.  He was preceded in death by two brothers, John Forrest and Rembert Forrest; and a sister, Charlotte Tillery.

Survivors include his wife, Faye Forrest of Preston, GA; two daughters, Jayne Pearce (Ragan) of Preston, GA and Kaye Jones (Phillip) of Preston, GA.  Also surviving are four grandchildren, William Pearce (Abbyjane), Michael Pearce (Jessie), Andy Jones, and Dana Jones Merz (Paul); five great-grandchildren, Caroline, Heidi, Olivia, Charlie, and Maddie; sister-in-law, Hilda Forrest; and several nieces and nephews.
