William "Jimmy" Place, Jr.

William James “Jimmy” Place, Jr., age 54, passed away at his residence on Thursday, January 10, 2019. A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, January 19, 2019, at the Rosenwald School, 113 Sandy Street, Cusseta, GA.

Mr. Place was born in Columbus, GA on October 5, 1964 to William James Place, Sr. and Gwanda Brookins Place.  Jimmy enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and NASCAR.  He volunteered often with the Chattahoochee County Historical Society and loved animals.

Survivors include his daughter, Jennifer Place and her fiancé Jonathan Bradley of Columbus, GA; a son, Curtis Place of Virginia; his parents, William and Gwanda Place of Cusseta, GA; a brother, Douglas Place and his wife, Fredis of Seale, AL; and six grandchildren, Jesse, Dylan, Gracie, Parker, Devin, and Niron.
