William James Lassen, Sr.

Mr. William James Lassen, Sr. 82, of Cusseta, GA, passed away on Wednesday, February 24, 2021, at Columbus Hospice in Columbus, GA.   A graveside funeral service will be held at 4:30PM on Sunday, February 28, 2021, at Harmony Cemetery in Cusseta, GA, with Rev. Isaiah Lewis officiating.

Mr. Lassen was born May 25, 1938, in Connecticut, to Frank and Florence Marshall Lassen. He was employed at B & H Auto as a mechanic. Mr. Lassen enjoyed going to the casino, splitting and stacking wood, and watching Westerns.  He also liked working on cars and racing.  He was just a loveable guy and was always helping others.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Judith Lassen; by three brothers, Frank Lassen, Jr. (PeeWee), John M. Lassen and Bud Lassen, by a sister, Susan Greenwood, and by a brother-in-law, Thoston Rodriguez.

He is survived by two sons, Steven Lassen and William James Lassen, Jr., both of Cusseta, GA; by two daughters and sons-in-law, Falisa and Wiley Herring of Columbus, GA, and Bobbie Jo Lassen and Maurice, of Cusseta, GA; by two brothers, Joe and Fran Lassen of Enfield NH, and Albert and Dottie Lassen of Springfield, NH; three sisters, Anita and Phillip DuPont of Newport, NH, Fran Rodriguez of Silver Creek, MS, and Linda Jandro of Okeechobee, FL;  a loving niece, Ruth McKenna and James Pickering; eight grandchildren, Angel Lassen, Steven Lassen, Jr., Megan Lassen, Naveah Lassen, William Timothy Lassen, Justin Lassen, Patricia Lassen, and Frank Lassen; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews
