Willie W. Benford

Ellaville, GA --- Mr. Willie W. Benford, age 67, of 527 McMickle Road, Ellaville, died Monday, July 28, 2008. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at 10:00AM at Philippi Cemetery. Rev. Robert Orr will officiate.

Mr. Benford was born May 7, 1941 in Macon County, the son of Jewel Felton Benford and Allie Harris Benford. He was self employed as a tractor mechanic. Mr. Benford was of the Baptist faith.

Mr. Benford is survived by his wife of 44 years, Avie Ann Benford of Ellaville; two sons, Roy Benford of Ellaville, Wiley Benford and wife, Brenda of Ellaville; three sisters, Pearl Rimes and husband Tom of Oglethorpe, Claudia Wright and husband, Ricky of Eastman, Myrtice Benford of Marshallville; three brothers, Stoney Benford and wife, Nedra of Oglethorpe, Tony Benford and wife Fannie of Buena Vista, Benny Benford of Oglethorpe. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Jacob Benford and Morgan Benford. Mr. Benford was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Gary Wayne Benford.

Active pallbearers will be Jason Dobbs, Jessie Wilson, Ken Wilson, Cody Dobbs, Jacob Benford, Russell Tyler, Allen Grimsley, and Al Colquitt.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 29, 2008 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Watson-Giddens Funeral Home in Ellaville.
