Jerry Freeman Foster, 67, of Box Springs, GA, passed away March 26, 2020 in the comfort of his daughter’s home surrounded by loved ones. A memorial service to celebrate Jerry’s life will be held at a later date.

            Jerry Freeman Foster was born September 22, 1952, son of the late Freeman Foster and Doris Foster. Jerry worked alongside his parents Freeman and Doris, running the family business, Hamilton Road Barbecue Restaurant in Columbus Georgia. Jerry worked tiredly and effortlessly to ensure that he provided the best barbecue and service to their customers. This was not just a job but a passion, even on his days away from the restaurant you would always find him cooking a delicious meal for those he loved. Jerry lived most of his life in Columbus, GA, moving to Box Springs, GA just before his retirement, to help care for his beloved parents.

            Other than his parents Freeman and Doris,  Jerry is recently preceded in death by his Wife of 40 years Nita Borum Foster; also, numerus Aunts and Uncles whom he loved dearly.

            Jerry is survived by his daughter Crystal White Jones (Allen) of Columbus, GA; son, Ryan Jerry Foster (Patricia) of Fort Mitchell, AL; sisters, Carolyn McClung of Columbus, GA, and Brenda Watson (James) of Box Springs, GA; two grandchildren, Ashton Matthew Albert and Addison Morgan White; three nephews, Scot McClung (Christine), Shane McClung (Linda), and Jason Watson (Sheri); Jerry is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins who he loved dearly.

            The immediate family wishes to express or immense love and appreciation to our family members who took risk during this time of crisis in our world to spend time with Dad in his last days. Whether it was a simple visit, a hand hold, his last beard trim, or delivering his last homemade biscuit. We are beyond thankful for you and the smiles and you brought on his face. It is because of you he passed knowing he was a loved man. Also, our love appreciation to the staff at Columbus Hospice for quickly providing their assistance, especially, Charles Wright, Marilyn Dozier and Keisha Upshaw, thank you for being so kind and caring to our father in his last days, you truly were our saving grace,  we could not have made it through this difficult time without you.

            In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Columbus Hospice, 7020 Moon, Road Columbus, GA, in the memory of Jerry Freeman Foster.
