Louis A. Edwards

Mr. Louis A. Edwards, Jr., 92, of Box Springs, GA, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2020, at Magnolia Manor of Marion County. A graveside funeral service will be held at 10:00am on Tuesday, June 2, 2020, at Parkhill Cemetery in Columbus, GA with Rev. Dan Morey officiating. Friends are welcome to attend the service but must follow social distancing.

Mr. Edwards was born in Marion County, GA, on March 27, 1928, to Louis Arlie Edwards, Sr. and Mamie Hand Edwards. He was the owner and operator of Edwards Tractor Service before his retirement. Mr. Edwards served in the United States Army and was a member of Brown Springs Church of God. He was known for his guitar playing. Every Sunday he played guitar and his wife sang in the choir. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Larry Edwards, two sisters and a brother-in-law, Louise and Paul Tefft and Ethel Bell.

He is survived by his wife, Geneva Zuback Edwards of Buena Vista, GA; a son Richard Edwards of Box Springs, GA; his daughter, Rachel McCallister of Columbus, GA; a brother, Lamar and Mary Edwards of Phenix City, AL; a grandchild, Jessica and Jonathon Simmons and a great-granddaughter, Cora Eve Simmons. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
