Mrs. Suzanne Potter, 68, of Andersonville passed away at her residence on June 17, 2021. There will be a Celebration of Life held at 302 Old Andersonville Rd., Andersonville, GA on Friday, June 25, 2021 at 1:00 PM.

            Mrs. Potter was born June 15, 1953 in Cordele, Georgia to Ray Ruis and Dorothy Wiggins Weiss.  Suzanne was a lover of people, and spending time with her family.  They meant more to her than anything.  She had a fighting spirit and faced many trials throughout her life, but always kept faith in her Savior, Jesus.  Mrs. Potter truly enjoyed being outdoors and spending time on her porch, watching nature.  She was the best wife, mother, grandmother and friend and will be truly missed.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Elaine Muldrew and Diane Bayne; and a brother, Jack Ruis.

            Survivors include her husband, Walter Potter, Jr. of Sumter County; a daughter, Amanda Hall and husband, Lee of Mitchell County; a son, David Dent and wife, Tonya of Sumter County; six grandchildren, Madison Ebbers, Taylor Hall, Jordian Hall, Justin Hall, Abby Dent and Alli Dent; three brothers, Rob Ruis of Asheville, NC, Eddie Ruis and wife, Janet of Fernandina Beach, FL, and Jerry Ruis of Crisp County, GA; a sister, Amy Smith and husband, Danny of Milledgeville, GA; an aunt and uncle, Perry and Marie Brock of Americus, GA; brother and sister-in-law, John and Sharon Potter of Baxley, GA; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family; and her beloved pets, Winston and Buddy.

            In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sumter Humane Society, 108 Industrial Blvd, Americus, GA 31719.
